IRVING – Thomas Rosenmueller did something on Tuesday that no UNT golfer had done since 2015, and for the UNT senior golfer, it was a duplicate performance.
Rosenmueller won the Trinity Forest Invitational on Tuesday, finishing the three-day tournament with back-to-back 66s and a final-round 68 to win the tournament at 13-under par — two shots clear of the second-place finisher.
The tournament championship was the first for a UNT golfer since 2015, when Rosenmueller won the Quail Valley Collegiate Championship as a freshman.
Rosenmueller now has a season stroke average of 69.00 and tied for second in the field with 17 birdies while he had just four bogeys. He also led the entire field in Par-4 scoring.
The conference nod was the third of Rosenmueller's career, and he and the rest of the Mean Green return to action when they host the inaugural Maridoe Intercollegiate on Oct. 6-8, at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton.
