Peters, Brann Named Players Of The Week

DALLAS — North Texas junior forward Berklee Peters and redshirt sophomore keeper Kelsey Brann were named this week's Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.
In the Mean Green's two matches this weekend, Peters scored a goal in each of them and Brann led the defense to two shutout victories. Peters has a team-leading 11 goals on the year and Brann has 10 shutout victories, which is three more than anyone else in Conference USA.
"I am so happy to be announced player of the week," Peters said. "I have been working so hard, leaving everything on the field and it has finally paid off. I couldn't have done it without the support of my coaches and teammates. They really push me to the best of my ability during practice and games. I can't wait to see how the rest of the season goes and the conference tournament."
For Peters, a 2018 all-conference honoree, it is her first ever player of the week award. It is Brann, also a 2018 all-conference winner, third goalkeeper of the week honoree of the year and fourth of her Mean Green career.
"Kelsey's been such a rock for us in goal and one of the very best in the country at her position," said head coach John Hedlund. "Also really happy for Berklee as well, this is long over due, not sure where this team would be without her eleven goals this season."
North Texas is on the road for the rest of the regular season. This Friday they play at Florida Atlantic at 6 p.m. CT.
