Soccer To Face Arkansas In NCAA Tournament

DENTON —The North Texas soccer team will face the No. 6 Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The Mean Green (15-5-3) are just one day removed from capturing the 2019 Conference USA Tournament championship, which earned them an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. UNT has now won three straight C-USA Tournament titles. This will be the fourth time in the last five years they've made the NCAA Tournament.
Last year in the tournament, they lost to then No. 16 Texas A&M 1-0 in double overtime in the first round. They were just two minutes shy of sending the match into penalty kicks.
Arkansas (16-3-2) lost to South Carolina 1-0 in the finals of the SEC Tournament.The Razorbacks beat four national ranked teams this year but none more notable than No. 1 North Carolina on Sept. 15 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Overall the North Texas soccer team has won now 16 conference titles in its 25-year history and has never had a losing season. Since joining C-USA in 2013, they've won either the regular season crown and/or tournament crown eight times. In 2015 and 2018 they won both the regular season and tournament titles.
