Mean Green Golf Adds Signees

DENTON – UNT men's golf coach Brad Stracke announced Sunday the signings of his two Class of 2020 signees, both of whom will join the Mean Green next fall.
UNT signed Nikhil Gopal, of South Africa, and Vicente Marzilio, of Argentina, and Stracke said he expects both to be the type of player who can contribute as soon as they set foot on campus.
Marzilio has 16 top-10 finishes and five wins over the last two years, including wins at Abierto Las Brisas de Chicureo in Chile last year and Campeonato Abierto del Litoral in Argentina last year.
Gopal has one win and five top-10 showings in the last two year and won the KwaZulu-Natal Open Stroke Play Championship in South Africa in May, and he's seen his World Amateur Golf Ranking reach as high as 289.
"I'm excited about this 2020 class," Stracke said. "Nikhil and Vicente have had top finishes against quality competition. They both are strong ball strikers and showed they have the ability to shoot low scores."
