James Named To TDS Postseason Top 100

DENTON — North Texas soccer senior Dominique James was named the 38th best player in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer in its postseason ranking.
This is the second year in a row James, a back-to-back first team all-region selection and 2018 all-American, has been ranked in the top 60.
James, who this December graduated magna cum laude from the G. Brint Ryan College of Business, concluded her college career as one of the most successful student-athletes in UNT history. Along with being a 2018 all-American — the program's first — James was named to the 2019 Preseason MAC Herman Trophy Watch List, which is awarded to the nation's top player at the end of the season. She was the 2018 Conference USA Player of the Year, the 2018 and 2019 C-USA Defensive Player of the Year, a two-time C-USA Tournament Defensive Player MVP recipient, two-time C-USA Preseason Defensive Player of the Year honoree and a three-time All-Conference First Team selection.
A three-year captain at UNT, James led the Mean Green to the 2016 and 2018 C-USA regular season championship and the 2017, 2018 and 2019 C-USA Tournament championship. In her four years with the Mean Green, James never missed a game and started 80 straight matches before her college career came to an end. During her time, UNT posted a 59-16-9 (.755) record and she led her squad to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
Off the field, James was named to the President's list for her outstanding grade point average. The UNT Student-Athlete Advisory Committee co-chair was a three-time C-USA All-Academic recipient and all-region academic recipient.
