Bruffett Named Academic All-American

DENTON -- North Texas soccer captain Logan Bruffett was named a Google Cloud Academic All-American Second Team on Thursday. She is the first academic all-American in the program's 25-year history.Â
Bruffett, who is graduating a year early with a 4.0 grade point average while majoring in psychology, biology and health studies, was named Conference USA First Team All-Academic earlier this season. A critical piece to the Mean Green's current championship dynasty, Bruffett has played in 62 career matches for the Mean Green and started 42 of them. A versatile player who has played all over the field for UNT, Bruffett has scored nine career goals. Following the 2019 season, Bruffett was named third-team all-conference.Â
Bruffett scored the go-ahead goal in the second-half of the finals of the 2019 C-USA Tournament Championship. The title win was the Mean Green's eighth overall since they joined C-USA in 2013 and it was the third year in a row they've won the tournament crown.Â
