Mean Green Travel To FIU

MIAMI — The North Texas men's basketball team concludes the regular season with a 6 p.m. CT scheduled tip-off at Florida International on Saturday.
The game will be streamed on CUSA.tv and on the Mean Green Sports Radio Network on KHYI 95.3 FM/KNTU 88.1FM or through the tuneIN app. Hank Dickenson will be on the call for MGSRN.
On Feb. 16, UNT (20-10, 8-9 C-USA) lost to FIU (18-12, 9-8 C-USA) in Miami 69-59. North Texas played just six players in the game and had four play 40 minutes. They are just one of two teams in the country this season to do that.
The Mean Green begin the Conference USA Championship on Wednesday March 13 at the Star in Frisco. Following their result against FIU they'll know who they'll play in their first round game.

In their most recent game on March 3 versus Marshall, North Texas sophomore forward Zachary Simmons grabbed nine rebounds to give him 195 for the season and surpass his freshman season total of 191. His 191 rebounds last season were second on the team to Ryan Woolridge's 197.
THIRD-MOST THREES
In the second half of last Thursday's game against FAU, North Texas redshirt freshman Umoja Gibson's made his 81st three-pointer of the season. That moved him into third-place for most three-pointers made in a single season. He then made five three-pointers in their most recent game on March. 3 vs. Marshall. He is three three-pointers away from moving into second-place.
13TH BEST SCORING DEFENSE
As of Friday, North Texas owns the nation's 13th-best scoring defense. They give up just 62.7 ppg. It ranks second in C-USA behind Old Dominion who ranks 9th in the nation at 61.1 ppg.
MIKE'S IMPROVMENT
Senior Michael Miller was the 10th leading scorer for the Mean Green last season. He enters Saturday's game at FIU as the second leading scorer this season with 328 points. He scored 108 last year.
ONLY TEAM IN THE COUNTRY
North Texas is the only team in the country that has six guys with a double-digit scoring average (Gibson 12.6 ppg, Woolridge 12.1 ppg, Smart 11.2 ppg, Miller 10.9 ppg, Duffy 10.5 ppg, Z. Simmons 10.1).
50 PERCENT SHOOTING
UNT is undefeated this season (8-0) when shooting 50 percent or better from the field.
