UNT Draws UAB In First Round

DALLAS — The 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship field is set. The Mean Green earned a fifth-seed and will face 12-seed UAB in the first round on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT. The tournament is being hosted by Rice in Houston.
North Texas (11-10) has won at least one match in each of its last 11 conference tournaments and won it all in 2010, 2012 and 2013 in the Sun Belt Conference.
The Mean Green and Blazers (6-13) faced off last season in the first round of the conference tournament. UNT beat UAB 4-2.
All six Mean Green players that saw action in last season's first round match against the Blazers are back. North Texas and UAB have not play one another this season yet.
All 14 C-USA schools make the women's tennis championship field. The single elimination tournament runs every day from Thursday through Sunday.
The winner of UNT's Thursday's match will face the winner between four-seed FIU and 13-seed UTEP on Friday in the quarterfinal round.
