North Texas returns hope for the first time in 2020 for a four game slate as part of the North Texas Invitational. The Mean Green enter the weekend at 4-1 on the year after winning games over Prairie View A&M, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Louisiana and McNeese State this past weekend.

Junior Hope Trautwein was named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week after posting a 0.62 ERA and holding opposing hitters to a .128 average. The Mean Green pitching staff as a whole posted a 1.53 ERA through opening weekend and held opponents to a .177 average.

The Mean Green will open up the home slate with a 7 p.m. matchup with Creighton (3-2) on Friday night. North Texas last saw the Blue Jays a year ago, the Mean Green opened the same tournament with a 7-3 win over Creighton to push their overall record over the school from the Big East to 4-5.

Matchups with Abilene Christian (1-3) and Missouri State (1-4) await the Mean Green on Saturday. North Texas last saw the Wildcats on Mar. 26, 2019 in Abilene where they fell 9-1 to push the all-time matchup record to 2-3. This will be the sixth all-time meeting between the Mean Green and Missouri State, North Texas took the last matchup 5-0 on Feb. 27, 2012 for their first win in the all-time series.

North Texas will close out the tournament by taking on UT Martin (3-2). The Skyhawks and Mean Green last met on February 9, 2018 with a 5-2 North Texas win which pushed the all-time series to 3-0 in favor of the Mean Green.
