ATLANTA – The North Texas swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2020 Conference USA Championships on Saturday night at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech University.
Â
The Mean Green finished the week fifth in the team standings while FIU won their sixth consecutive Conference crown.
Â
"This week was a fight from the first night," head coach Brittany Roth said. "The team came together and had some really good performances into the weekend."
Â
North Texas history was made on the final day in Atlanta when Meaghan Miller took the platform for her prelim round. The junior posted a score of 208.65 which broke the North Texas platform diving record.
Â
"The divers had an outstanding performance on platform," diving coach Mark Murdock said. "I'm very proud of their strong performances all week."
Â
Leigh Faires McGee led the way for the Mean Green swimmers on Saturday with an appearance in the A-Final of the 100-Yard Freestyle and the junior posted a time of 50.26
Â
Throughout the sixteen events, the Mean Green pieced together multiple season and personal best times. London Farris posted a personal best in all of her events, Ula Michalczyk posted personal bests in both her breaststroke events.
Â
"Collectively our team put together so many great performances," Roth added. "It's exciting given how our team is so young and developing. This year has been one of growth and learning, and I'm excited about what the future holds for North Texas swimming and diving."
