Barrett, Bouchard Take First At UTA Invite

ARLINGTON – North Texas took both the men's and the women's individual titles at the UTA Cross Country Invitational Friday as Erika Barrett and Caleb Bouchard finished first for the Mean Green at the season opener.
"It was a great run for both teams," head coach Kevin Williams said. "Hats off to Erika and Caleb."
Barrett and Bouchard each took home titles for North Texas. Barrett finished 24 seconds before the closest opponent in 11:42 in the 2-mile race to take the title. Bouchard ran a 20:11.1 to win by more than 12 seconds.
In addition to Barrett's victory, several Mean Green women placed. Audrey Springer finished fourth (12:06.0), Amaris Chavez eighth (12:21.3), Gwyneth Garcia ninth (12:24.1) and Katie Booth 10th in 12:25.1.
On the men's side, Jack Beaumont took fourth in the 4-mile in 20:47.6. Matthew Morgan was sixth in a time of 20:52.2. Braden Lange finished seventh at 20:58.6, and Logan Mitchell concluded in 10th by clocking a 21:06.9.
