DENTON - In an ongoing series, members of the UNT men's golf team will tell fans a bit about themselves, answering some questions about golf and some about off-the-wall topics. We'll “tee it off” with senior Viktor Forslund, who tells us where he got his athletic ability and his feelings on the Game of Thrones ending.

Q: How old were you when you started playing golf?
A: I was 8 years old.
Q: Why were you initially interested in playing golf?
A: My best friend in kindergarten, Marcus, took me to the local golf course where his dad was head pro, and that's how I got into it.
Q: Why did you keep playing golf? Was it just a matter of realizing you were pretty good or was it something more than that?
A: During the first couple of years that I played, the golf course became like a second home for me. All of my best friends were there and we hung out all day playing golf and having a lot of fun at the same time. Eventually, it became a little more serious.
Q: What is your favorite thing about the game?
A: All the friends that I've gotten to know playing it.
Q: What is your favorite club in your bag?
A: My putter.
Q: To whom do you attribute your athletic ability?
A: My dad, my grandpa and my uncles. My grandpa was a professional soccer player for a Swedish club.
Q: Did you grow up playing any other sports?
A: Aside from golf, I played soccer, hockey and cross-country skiing when I was growing up. My favorite sport was soccer.

Q: What is your favorite golf memory?
A: Winning the national team championship in Sweden in 2018. All of the golf clubs in the country were represented by their best players - pros and amateurs. Every club in the country competes and we won it in the highest division. It's actually quite a big tournament.
Q: What is the best course you've ever played?
A: Maridoe Golf Club.

Q: What is your favorite hobby when you're not playing golf?
A: Hiking, fishing and being around friends.
Q: Who has been your biggest inspiration through the years?
A: All of my golf friends that I've always tried to beat.
Q: Why did you choose UNT?
A: Because of coach Stracke, Maridoe and the potential of the golf program.

Q: If you could have dinner with three people - dead or alive - who would it be?
A: Zak, Cam and Hiroki.

Q: What is the best movie ever made?
A: The Return of the King
Q: What is your favorite TV show on Netflix?
A: Game of Thrones is by far my favorite show, but as far as Netflix shows go, I'll go with Suits.
Q: What is your favorite all-time episode of Game of Thrones, and did you like the way the show ended?
A: “Battle of the Bastards” was my favorite episode. And no, I didn't like the end. I feel like they rushed the last two seasons and put too little time into the details.

Q: Who is your favorite band or musician?
A: Zac Brown Band.
Q: Who on the team has the best taste in music aside from yourself? Who has the worst?
A: Zak has the best, and Robert has the worst (by far).
Q: Are you a dog or cat person? Do you have any pets?
A: Dogs, but I don't have any, unfortunately.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: My dad's steak, served with potatoes from the oven and béarnaise sauce.
Q: If you were going to get a free dinner at any restaurant, where would you pick and why?
A: It would be a restaurant called Riche in Stockholm. It's known to be very fancy and they serve some tremendously good food.
Q: You have one day left on Earth. What's your last meal?
A: Chipotle: Double meat, double guacamole and a large drink.
Q: Favorite type of dessert?
A: My mother's apple pie.
Q: What was the biggest adjustment for you coming to the United States and what has been your favorite thing so far about being here?
A: The language, the culture and the people. I've enjoyed meeting new people, learning about the American culture and lifestyle and playing tournaments at awesome places.
Q: Which of your teammates' home countries would you most like to visit and why?
A: Iceland because of the nature and New Zealand for the same reason.
