MBB Begins Year With Exhibition At Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — The defending Conference USA tournament champion North Texas men's basketball team begins the 2021-22 season Saturday afternoon with an exhibition game at Arkansas.
Tip-off on Saturday is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT from Bud Walton Arena. The exhibition, however, will not be streamed or be broadcasted on North Texas radio. There will be live stats, which can be found here.
The Mean Green are coming off a historic season where they not only won the conference tournament but they also became the first team in school history to win a NCAA Tournament game when they upset Purdue 78-69 (OT) in the first round. UNT returns starters Mardrez McBride and Thomas Bell as well as key pieces Abou Ousmane, JJ Murray , Rubin Jones and Jahmiah Simmons. Bell was voted by the league coaches to Preseason All-Conference team recently.
After Saturday's exhibition at Arkansas, North Texas begins its title defense on Nov. 9 with the season-opener against Oklahoma Christian at the Super Pit. The season-opener is scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. CT.
