Tennis Prepared For Road Test At Baylor

DENTON - The Mean Green tennis program picked up a 4-1 win over Sam Houston on Jan. 31 and are looking for its second straight victory.
Now, the Mean Green are ready to get back to competition and hope to start a winning streak when they travel down Interstate-35 to play No. 17 Baylor in Waco on Friday at 5 p.m.
"This is another huge opportunity to play a great team early on in the season," UNT head coach Sujay Lama said. "Our ladies love the challenge and the chance to raise their level. Our ultimate goal is to keep making improvement with each match so that we are in a position to make a run in April."
Last time out, the Mean Green (1-2) were led by junior transfer Lucie Devier and fellow junior Maria Ponomareva, who each won their doubles matches and cruised to runaway victories in their singles matches against the Bearkats. The Mean Green also picked up a singles victory from sophomore Kexuan Zhou.
