Tennis Hits Road To Play Texas State, Houston

DENTON – After inclement winter weather across the state threw a wrench in the Mean Green tennis team's schedule last week, they are set to make up two of those matches this week on the road.
A match at Stephen F. Austin was canceled last week, while road tilts at Texas State and Houston had to wait a week but will now be played today and Thursday, respectively.
"We are super excited to be able to reschedule these two matches," UNT head coach Sujay Lama said. "The break from the bad weather recharged our batteries, and now we are ready to go and start building some nice momentum."
UNT (1-3) will play Texas State in San Marcos at 1 p.m. Tuesday before heading to Houston to play the Cougars at 1 p.m. Thursday.
The Mean Green are coming off a loss to No. 17 Baylor on Feb. 12, but Lama came away from the match impressed with how his team battled against a ranked Big 12 opponent. In that match, sophomore Kexuan Zhou dropped the first set of her match before battling back to claim the Mean Green's only win. But the Mean Green were squarely in position to contend for wins in four of the other matches.
