HOUSTON - The Mean Green tennis team played their second match in as many days on Thursday and fell 4-2 to Houston after beating Texas State in San Marcos on Wednesday.
The match was moved midway through from an outdoor tennis facility to an indoor facility due to rainy weather, and after picking up the doubles point with wins from the teams of Lucie Devier and Nidhi Surapaneni and Saki Oyama and Sophia Hummel, the Mean Green were only able to pick up one more point in singles play.
Maria Ponomareva won the No. 3 singles match 6-2, 6-0, but the Cougars were able to pick up four singles victories.
Up next
UNT will return home on March 7 to host Wichita State at noon at Waranch Tennis Complex.
