Mean Green Tennis Hosting Tulane

DENTON - The Mean Green tennis team will look to get back in the win column today when they host Tulane at 3 p.m., at Waranch Tennis Complex.
UNT (2-7) has dropped four straight matches since a road victory at Texas State and will be playing its third match of the week. On Monday, the Mean Green lost a heartbreaker to Memphis, 4-3, despite taking five of the six singles matches to three sets and claiming the doubles point. Tulane (8-4) has struggled on the road this year with seven of its eight wins coming at home.
"We are playing good tennis and competing well," UNT coach Sujay Lama said. "We are giving ourselves a chance to win just about every time we step on the court. We just have to finish and that is a goal of ours. We have another shot at home against a good Tulane team, and we are looking forward to the opportunity."
In that close loss to Memphis, the Mean Green got singles victories from Nidhi Surapaneni and Kexuan Zhou and doubles victories from the teams of Surapaneni and Lucie Devier and Zhou and Maria Ponomareva.
