Lampe Named C-USA DPOTW

DALLAS — North Texas soccer senior defender Brooke Lampe was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week presented by Surf & Turf Golf announced Sunday by the league.
Lampe, a second-year team captain, guided UNT to a 3-0 victory over UT San Antonio on Friday. UNT and its defense allowed zero shots in the first half against the Roadrunners and just two shots on goal all match in the shutout victory. As she always does, Lampe played all 90 minutes against UTSA.
With the 3-0 win over the Roadrunners, the Mean Green secured the second seed in the west division and a first round matchup against Charlotte on Tuesday at the C-USA Championship hosted by Rice. UNT will face the 49ers at 1:30 CT and the match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
