EL PASO — The North Texas soccer team drew with UTEP Friday night, 1-1
The Mean Green (6-2-1, 3-1-1) got a first half goal from freshman Devyn Flannery — her first collegiate goal.
Flannery's 32nd-minuite goal came off a tremendous through ball from senior captain Brooke Lampe for her second assist of the year.
The lead lasted until the 80th-minute when the Miners (3-4-2. 2-1-1), who were down to 10 players, scored after the Mean Green failed to clear a ball out of their box. UTEP's Emerson Kidd scored after blocking the clear.
In extra time, UNT fired off seven shots in the 10-minute period but couldn't put any on net. However, neither could UTEP.
The tie is UNT's first of the year. The Mean Green return home next Friday as they host UTSA at 7 p.m. for the final match of the regular season.
