Attendance for all North Texas softball games will be extremely limited and will include individuals on the team pass list, current UNT students and Mean Green Scholarship Fund Members who qualify for the Olympic Sports Pass.
DENTON - North Texas (29-10, 10-2 C-USA) is set to host UTSA (11-25, 5-7 C-USA) at Lovelace Stadium to close out the 2021 home slate of games. The four-game series will take place from Friday through Sunday with the first pitch of game one set for 6 p.m. on Friday night. The Mean Green and Roadrunners are meeting for the eighth overall series between the two teams since becoming conference opponents during the summer of 2013. UTSA was the only conference opponent for North Texas during 2020 prior to the COVID-19 cancellation, the Mean Green took 2-of-3 in San Antonio.

• Tuesday DerMargosian currently ranks second in Conference USA with a .411 average and ranks seventh with 44 base hits.
North Texas vs. Southern Miss

• North Texas currently holds a 19-12 advantage in the previous matchups and has won 8 of the last 10 dating back to 2018.
• North Texas holds a 13-2 advantage in games played in Denton with their last loss at home coming during the 2015 season.
• UTSA is the only conference opponent North Texas played in 2020 due to the COVID-19 shutdown, the Mean Green took two out of three in San Antonio.
• The Roadrunners are led offensively by preseason All-Conference outfielder Celeste Loughman who holds a .313 average with 24 runs scored, five home runs and 16 RBI with an OBP of .421, Loughman is a fifth-year senior who took advantage of the NCAA's blanket eligibility waiver from last year that gave her another season in San Antonio. In the circle, freshman Jamie Gilbert holds a team-best 3.38 ERA over 37.1 innings, the pitching staff as a whole has recorded 140 strikeouts while opponents hit at a .304 clip against them.
• UTSA is led by eighth-year head coach Michelle Cheathem.
