Devier Named C-USA Athlete of the Week

DALLAS — North Texas junior tennis player Lucie Devier was named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.
Devier had two wins last week over ranked opponents. In doubles, she and partner Saki Oyama paired to beat the No. 26 nationally ranked doubles team from Tulsa 6-4. In singles, Devier beat in straight sets the No. 98 nationally ranked player, 7-5, 6-4. After the win, the junior had then won four straight singles matches all at the No. 1 position in the lineup.
Devier has won 11 singles matches and nine doubles matches this year. The newcomers wins over Tulsa are her first wins over ranked opponents.
