BOWLING GREEN - Ky. - North Texas (38-10, 18-2 C-USA) will take on UAB (30-18, 15-5 C-USA) in the semifinals of the 2021 Conference USA Softball Championship on Friday, May 14 at noon.
The winner of the matchup will move into Saturday's Championship Final at noon while the loser will take on the winner of WKU and Charlotte in a second semifinal at 5 p.m. Friday for a spot in Saturday's final. A win would give North Texas their first appearance in the Championship Final while a loss would put them in the loser's bracket semifinal for the second consecutive tournament.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required) with fans having live stats available through the softball schedule page.

North Texas vs. UAB
• The Mean Green and Blazers are meeting for the 23rd all-time matchup between the two programs and for the first time in the postseason.
• The two teams split the regular season series in Denton April 2-3, the Blazers are the only Conference USA team to beat the Mean Green during the 2021 season.
• UAB holds a 13-9 advantage in the 22 previous contests, North Texas has won five of the last seven.
• After UAB swept the opening doubleheader in Denton, North Texas went on to win their next 18 conference games in route to their first outright regular season title.
• The Blazers are led offensively by sophomore Sierra Frazier, the First Team All-Conference selection leads UAB with a .387 average, a .710 slugging percentage and 5.31 OBP, driving in 26 runs on 48 hits. The pitching staff is led by junior First Team All-C-USA selection Amy Woodham who leads the Blazers with 92.0 IP and has posted a 2.28 ERA.
• Western Kentucky is led by first year head coach Joe Guthrie who was named the head coach prior to the start of the 2021 season.
• North Texas is looking to punch a ticket to the Conference USA Championship final for the first time in program history.
