Marzilio Gets Bid To Stillwater NCAA Regional

DENTON - After storming to the Conference USA individual championship last week with a final-round 67 that featured seven birdies and four on the final seven holes, North Texas freshman Vicente Marzilio learned his destination for the NCAA Regional tournament on Wednesday afternoon.
A day after earning first-team All-Conference USA and conference Freshman of the Year honors, Marzilio was assigned to the Stillwater Regional on May 17-19, after his individual conference championship earned him an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional. The top individual finisher at regionals not on an advancing team will advance to the NCAA Championship May 29-June 2, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Marzilio was No. 160 in the latest Golfstat poll and has had a banner freshman season, earning top-20 finishes in five of his six starts, highlighted by his win at the C-USA Championship last week.
