DENTON - North Texas (33-10, 14-2 C-USA) is set for the final series of the regular season as they head to Ruston, La. to take on Louisiana Tech (22-25, 10-6) in a four-game weekend set. The two teams are meeting for the sixth overall series between the programs since becoming conference opponents prior to the 2014 season and were unable to play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 season cancellation.
The Mean Green enter the weekend three wins away from their second Conference USA crown in three years, two wins and a UAB loss would also guarantee that North Texas is the outright champion of the conference.
2019 marked the first time that North Texas won in Ruston as they picked up two wins against the team they would be named Co-Champions with at the end of the regular season. The Mean Green have won five of the last six matchups between the two programs.Â

North Texas vs. Louisiana Tech
• The Mean Green and Lady Techsters are meeting for the sixth overall series between the programs since becoming conference opponents prior to the 2014 season.
• Louisiana Tech currently holds a 13-10 advantage in the previous matchups while North Texas has won five of the previous six meetings.
• Louisiana Tech holds a 6-2 advantage in games played in Ruston with the Mean Green winning the previous series in Ruston in 2019.
• North Texas beat Louisiana Tech twice in 2019 for their first wins in Ruston in program history. The Mean Green and Lady Techsters were named Conference USA Co-Champions that year.
• The Lady Techsters are led offensively by senior Madie Green who is hitting .314 with a team-high 33 hits, 21 RBI and four home runs, a .422 OBP and a .543 slugging percentage. Senior Bre Hernandez has taken on the bulk of the innings for Louisiana Tech, tossing 122.2 with a 23-17 record and a 3.25 ERA while tossing a team-high 84 strikeouts and holding a .229 opponent batting average.
• Louisiana Tech is led by first year Interim Head Coach Bianca Duran who took the program over in August after being with the program for four years prior as an Assistant.
