THE FIELD: There are 18 teams participating in the tournament (rankings are from last season's final GolfStat poll), including BYU, Colorado, Denver, Dixie State, Florida Atlantic, Louisiana Tech, No. 23 Louisville, Loyola Marymount, UNLV, Nebraska, No. 29 New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Texas, No. 48 San Diego, Santa Clara, Texas (individual), UTEP, VCU and Wyoming.

LAST TIME OUT: North Texas finished 13th at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational and was led by senior Lenny Bergsson, who finished T28th.
INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: The Mean Green feature six international players this year. Lenny Bergsson (Iceland), Viktor Forslund (Sweden), Nikhil Gopal (South Africa), Zak Karkaletsos (Spain), Diego Prone (Argentina) and Vicente Marzilio (Argentina) round out the international players.
STRACKE SAYS: "I like playing in Albuquerque because the guys get to experience altitude, fast, firm bentgrass greens and bluegrass rough," UNT head coach Brad Stracke said. "This team has the makeup to compete for championships, and I hope they bring it this week."
UP NEXT: North Texas will head to Dallas to play in the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, Oct. 4-6.
NEW FACILITY: The Mean Green golf programs are thrilled to break in their brand new Bruzzy's UNT Golf Practice Facility, the new $3 million on-campus facility that features state-of-the-art technology, such as TrackMan, swing catalysts, indoor hitting bays, a short-game area and a PuttView indoor putting green.
HOME SWEET MARIDOE: North Texas enjoys its home course -- the Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton. The course opened to members in July 2017 and gives the Mean Green a state-of-the-art home course with world-class facilities, including a fully-dedicated practice facility, complete with a two-ended driving range to account for many varying wind conditions, a sprawling three-acre short game retreat and indoor facilities with state-of-the-art hitting bays that provide tools the program had not previously had at its disposal.
