DENTON — The North Texas men's basketball team had its first official practice Tuesday.
The reigning Conference USA Championship title winners, who made UNT history by becoming the first team to win a NCAA Tournament game with a first round upset over Purdue, return two starters and six overall from last season's squad. They've welcomed nine newcomers to the team, including the 2021 NJCAA National Tournament MVP, a transfer with NCAA Tournament experience and a freshman who posted a four-year record of 107-4 while in high school.
UNT has won back-to-back conference championships and is looking to become the first Mean Green men's basketball team to make consecutive NCAA Tournaments.
