UNT playing one final tune-up game before the regular season
DENTON, Texas – Led by a group of talented returning pieces and several impact newcomers, North Texas women's basketball hits the floor in the Super Pit for the first time in the 2022-23 season Thursday as they take on Texas A&M International at 6:30 p.m.
The Mean Green, who return six players from last year's roster, will be looking to build off a strong 2021-22 season and have their sights set on even bigger goals in 22-23.
Last season, UNT became the first team since 2002 to earn a bid to the Women's NIT after posting a 17-13 overall record and advancing to the semifinal of the C-USA Tournament. The Mean Green finished just one possession shy of clinching a berth in the title game for the first time since joining C-USA.
The Mean Green will be led this season by senior Quincy Noble who led UNT in scoring with 14.4 points per game a season ago. A Second Team All C-USA selection, Noble landed on the Preseason All-Conference team earlier this month and is expected to have a big 22-23 campaign.
