DENTON — The 16-time conference champion North Texas soccer team signed seven incoming freshmen on Wednesday to a National Letter of Intent.
The Mean Green will welcome a stacked signing class next season to further the growth of the program as they move into the American Athletic Conference next season. All seven of the incoming freshmen have played at a high level and add depth all over the field.
Four of the seven signees will come from outside the state of the Texas, including the first players in program history to come from Oklahoma, Missouri and Nebraska.
Sarah Peyton Webb
- FC Dallas 05 ECNL
- Prosper High School
One of the best outside backs in the nation, Webb is a local prospect who has played for the competitive FC Dallas club. The Prosper High School standout was voted first team all-district last year as well as all-academic. She helped lead her Prosper squad to a district championship. She'll join a Mean Green program that has built conference dynasties off its defense.

Mia Bernard
- Solar SC 05 ECNL
- Rockwall Heath High School
Another DFW product, Bernard is a threat to opposing team and someone the coaches are thrilled to have in the program. Bernard's club team was one of the best in the nation and reached the Elite Eight of the national championship.

Bree Korta
- Gretna Elite Academy ECNL 05
- Pius X Cathlic High School
Along with incoming freshman Lakin Appell, Korta is the first UNT soccer recruit to come from the state of Nebraska. A dominate midfielder, Korta will find a nice new home in Denton within the Mean Green program. Korta helped lead her Pius High School team to the state playoffs last year for the first time in almost a decade.

Danae Hobson
- OK Energy FC ECNL G05
- Union High School
A northeast Oklahoma native, Hobson adds depth up front for the Mean Green as a goal-scorer who will help fill the shoes after 2022 C-USA Player of the Year Olivia Klein graduated. Hobson will be the first player to play for UNT from Oklahoma.

Lakin Appell
- Sporting Nebraska ECNL-RL
- Skutt Catholic High School
The Nebraska native who grew up near Omaha has racked up the prep awards in her three-plus years in high school. Appell was named by the Lincoln Journal Star to the first team all-state honor. Omaha World-Herald also named her all state. Nebraska Soccer Talk voted her state tournament MVP and she has been named to multiple all academic teams.

Kennedy Bernsen
- Sporting St. Louis 05 GA
- Ft. Zumwalt West High School
The first player in program history to come from Missouri, Bernsen is ready to show us something with her speed. An outside back who is excellent on both sides of the ball, Bernsen will play a role for UNT that has always been led by some of the most impactful players in program history.

Alexis Miller
- DKSC 05 ECNL
- V.R. Eaton High School
A workhorse who can attack from all over the field, Miller is another DFW product who was voted first team all-district out of Eaton High School last season in Haslet. Miller is a 4.0 student-athlete who will fit perfectly into a role at UNT.
