
Klein Named First Team Academic All-America®

AUSTIN — North Texas women's soccer senior captain Olivia Klein was named a 2022 First Team Academic All-America® selection by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
Klein, who was named the 2022 Conference USA Player of the Year, is the first women's soccer student-athlete in UNT history to earn the first team Academic All-America® recognition and the fourth overall Mean Green student-athlete ever to earn the first team honor.
Klein holds a 4.0 grade point average and is actively working towards her Masters in Sports Management. She joins her former teammate and 2019 North Texas graduate, Logan Bruffett, as UNT women's soccer student-athlete to be named to an Academic All-America® team. Bruffett was voted second team in 2019.
A three-time Conference USA champion, Klein leaves the Mean Green with 24 career goals and 13 career assists in 90 career matches played.
Her 90 career matches is second-most in program history and her 24 career goals are tied for 17th most in school history.
Klein led the league in 2022 in goals scored and was voted first team all-conference in addition to the player of the year nod.
