Junior Ashley Peters has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Dallas, TX – Junior Ashley Peters has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Peters earns the honor for the first time in her career after pitching in all four games this weekend in the Tracy Beard College Classic and recording a 3-0 record along with one save.

Through four games in Melissa, Texas, Peters finished with 15.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 13 K, 0 BB and a 0.60 ERA.

In the last game of the weekend, she pitched a complete game against Abilene Christian. Peters didn't allow an earned run and set a new single-game career high of seven strikeouts.

Peters (4-1) has pitched two complete games in four starts and has recorded a 1.27 ERA with 25 strikeouts through 28.1 innings on the season.

UNT returns home this upcoming weekend to host the North Texas Invitational in Denton at Lovelace Stadium.
