Mean Green Set To Host Virginia Sunday

DENTON — The North Texas men's basketball team will host Virginia in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament at the Super Pit on Sunday at 5 p.m. CT.
The Mean Green (25-6) advanced to the second round after Tuesday's 67-63 overtime win against Texas State. The win was UNT's 25th of the year, which is a single-season program record.
This will be just the second time in program history North Texas has faced Virginia (20-13). They last played UVA on Nov. 20, 2012 at Virginia.
Tickets to the second round NIT game will be made available for purchase Thursday at noon. Mean Green men's basketball season ticket holders received an email where they can reserve their seats for Sunday's game.
Sunday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network, which can be found on The Varsity Network App.
