Swimmers Set For Season Debut

DENTON - The North Texas swimmers will make their season debut on Saturday at 4 p.m., as they compete in the Sam Freas Invite, hosted by Oklahoma Christian, in Edmond, Oklahoma. The divers will make their competitive debut on Oct. 7 at New Mexico State.

The Mean Green return several key contributors in the pool from last year's team, highlighted by sophomore Shaena McCloud and senior London Farris, who were both a part of the team's 400 freestyle relay that brought home the bronze medal from last season's Conference USA Championship.

UNT head coach Brittany Roth said she is ready to see the team, which also features a few key newcomers, compete for the first time this season.

"I'm excited to see our swimmers get our first racing opportunity of the season," she said. "We've been locked in day in and day out thus far, so it will be fun to see this first month's work within their racing. I'm looking forward to seeing the strengths of our team pull together this weekend."
