Drenowatz Named Offensive Player of the Week

DENTON — North Texas soccer senior forward Madi Drenowatz was named the Conference USA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after scoring three total goals over the Mean Green's two matches last week.
Drenowatz, who has either scored or assisted in every match this season, scored all but one of her team's goals this past week. She scored a brace versus Oklahoma on Thursday and netted her team's first goal on Sunday versus Texas State.
After this week's performance, Drenowatz, who led UNT in scoring last season with eight goals, is now tied for the team lead in goals scored with five. She is tied with fellow senior Olivia Klein. Drenowatz's 14 points (five goals and four assists) leads North Texas through its first six matches.
This is Drenowatz's first C-USA weekly honor. UNT freshman forward Kat Burnell and freshman goalkeeper Dani Jacobson each earned weekly league honors after the first week of this season.
