
Soccer Travels To FAU Sunday

BOCA RATON, Florida – The UNT Soccer team continues its conference matches on the road.
North Texas will face Florida Atlantic for the first time in the new conference this season on Sunday at noon CT. The matchup will be streamed on ESPN+.
Coming into Sunday's game, UNT (8-3-1, 2-2-1) and FAU (6-5-3,2-2-1) are both in a position to qualify for the eight-team conference tournament with an opportunity to finish in the top half.
The last time the Mean Green faced the Owls was last season in Conference USA. UNT holds an advantage over FAU with 12 wins and five losses in the all-time matchup history. Over the last 10 meetings, the two schools have split the series evenly five apiece.
After Thursday's loss to USF, North Texas sits in third place in the American Conference West Division behind SMU and No. 9 Memphis. On Thursday night, FAU fell 2-0 to the Mustangs, placing them fourth in the East Division.
With a win against Florida Atlantic, UNT can secure its 29th consecutive winning record. Head Coach John Hedlund is currently one of the two active head women's coaches who have never had a losing season while at one university.
The Mean Green returns to the Soccer and Track & Field Stadium on Oct. 19 setting the stage for the Charlotte 49ers.
