DENTON – Single game tickets for the reigning NIT champion North Texas Mean Green men's basketball team are on sale now.
UNT, who is coming off the most successful season in program history, will host 16 games this season at the Super Pit including DFW rival SMU on Jan. 25, Memphis on Feb 15 and Florida Atlantic on March 6 who reached the 2023 Final Four. The Mean Green will play their first home contest on Oct. 29 in an exhibition double header versus Sam Houston. Texas A&M and Texas Tech will play the second game of the double header at the Super Pit.
North Texas' first regular season home game will be on Nov. 7 versus Northern Iowa.
In addition to the 2023 NIT title, the Mean Green won a program record 31 games last season. In April UNT elevated associate head coach Ross Hodge to the head coach position. Hodge has been the mastermind behind the North Texas defense that has led the nation in fewest points allowed per game in each of the last two seasons. UNT returns three starters from its NIT run in addition to adding seven newcomers to its roster.
