DENTON - The UNT divers will get back to competing against other schools on Tuesday and Wednesday when they travel to the University of Texas for a two-day competition.
After two straight weekends of the Green/White meet and the Alumni Meet, the divers are looking forward to competing against other schools, as they'll meet with TCU and Texas in Austin.
"It's a busy but exciting week ahead," diving coach Stephanie O'Callaghan said. "We're grateful for the opportunity to be invited to the Texas diving invite. It's a chance to go up against some of the teams we will see at NCAA Zones as well as some of the best divers in the country. It's a good chance for us to step up our game, build our confidence and compete with the best. We've gotten some good meet lists off competing at home internally the last few weekends, so we are excited to get back to competing against other schools as we get ready for our first home meet and midseason championships."
So far this season, seniors Brigid Krbec and Saylor Hawkins have both earned NCAA Zone cuts, as has freshman Sydney Guidara.
The competition will begin Wednesday at 1:10 p.m., with the 3-meter springboard preliminary round, with finals (top eight) set for 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, 1-meter springboard prelimis will begin at 11 a.m., with the final set for 5 p.m. All finals will be broadcast on Longhorn Network.
