Softball Set for Midweek Doubleheader

DENTON – UNT softball returns home for a doubleheader against Texas A&M-Commerce beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Lovelace Stadium on ESPN+.

The Mean Green (14-9, 2-1) will meet the Lions (4-17, 0-0 SLC) for the first time in program history. North Texas enters the game after winning two of three games at Louisiana Tech, including an 11-inning thriller on Friday.

Kalei Christensen leads the team with a .348 batting average (23-for-66) for the season and is one hit shy of No. 100 of her collegiate career. Kailey Gamble tops Conference USA with 10 home runs and is currently fifth in the nation. She leads the Mean Green with 16 runs, 22 RBI, 53 total bases and an .841 slugging percentage.

McKenzie Wagoner was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week on Monday after she tallied 18.0 innings, 14 strikeouts and a 0.78 ERA across two complete-game wins at Louisiana Tech.
