Softball Travels to No. 8 Arkansas for Wooo Pig Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – UNT softball continues its road trip at the Wooo Pig Classic to face Iowa State, No. 8 Arkansas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The Mean Green (10-5, 0-0) will use the three-day event as a final tune up before Conference USA play begins. North Texas fell 4-2 to No. 15 Texas on Wednesday but hopes to bounce back in Fayetteville.
Series Breakdown
vs. Iowa State (6-7, 0-0 Big 12)
vs. No. 8 Arkansas (13-3, 0-0 SEC)
vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (8-6, 0-0 SLC)
Head coach Rodney DeLong's team enters the tournament leading the four-team field in numerous categories including batting average, home runs, stolen bases, ERA and WHIP.

- The Mean Green open its weekend versus the Cyclones at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and play again on Saturday at 10 a.m.
- UNT trails Iowa State 2-4 in the all-time series, dropping the last game 7-1 against the Cyclones on March 5, 2021, at the Boerner Invitational in Arlington, Texas.
vs. No. 8 Arkansas (13-3, 0-0 SEC)
- North Texas takes on its second ranked opponent of the week against No. 8 Arkansas on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and concludes the Wooo Pig Classic at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday. This season, UNT have held ranked opponents to a total of eight runs on 13 hits.
- The Mean Green are 1-3 historically versus the Razorbacks. The lone win was a 10-2 victory at the Sleep Inn Classic in Denton on February 19, 2010.
- Games against the Razorbacks will be broadcast on SEC Network Plus.
vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (8-6, 0-0 SLC)
- UNT is set to meet Texas A&M-CC at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
- The Mean Green hold a 10-4 record over the Islanders and have won the previous six meetings dating back to 2013. The teams last met at the Boerner Invitational in Arlington, Texas with a 5-0 shutout victory on March 4, 2021.
- North Texas will face two opponents that finished last season top 100 in RPI in Arkansas (7) and Iowa State (58).
