STILLWATER, Okla. – UNT softball travels to No. 2 Oklahoma State on Wednesday for a rematch from the 2022 NCAA Stillwater Regional Finals. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (19-9) are riding a six-game winning streak, including a three-game conference sweep of UTSA. Kalei Christensen was awarded Conference USA Player of the Week award on Monday after she led the team to an undefeated record. The junior backstop posted a .600 batting average with eight RBI, five runs, three walks and two doubles.
McKenzie Wagoner paces the Mean Green pitching staff with a 7-1 record over 61.0 innings with 57 strikeouts, 1.26 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. She has provided three shutouts and five complete games this season, including solo wins in her past three games.
North Texas dropped a narrow 2-0 defeat to Oklahoma State (25-2) in last year's season finale on May 22, 2022. Historically, UNT trails the series 7-20 with the last win coming on Feb. 28, 2015, in a doubleheader sweep versus the Cowgirls.
