Softball Set for Midweek with Tarleton

DENTON – UNT softball hosts Tarleton for a midweek matchup on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Lovelace Stadium on ESPN+. Fans can purchase tickets HERE.
The Mean Green (20-16) will look to bounce back after dropping its Conference USA home series to UAB on Saturday. Tuesday's game will be the second meeting with the Texans (20-19) this season after North Texas won the first 6-0 on Feb. 22 in Stephenville, Texas.
Entering the midweek clash, head coach Rodney DeLong sits at 149 career wins at UNT and holds a 3-1 advantage over Tarleton. The Mean Green won 2-1 on April 27, 2022, in the only previous meeting at Lovelace Stadium between the two programs.
Preseason C-USA Pitcher of the Year Ashley Peters started last season's game against the Texans. She collected the win in 5.0 innings with six strikeouts, allowing one earned run on four hits and zero walks. Skylar Savage tallied the save with 2.0 scoreless innings and one strikeout.
Kailey Gamble currently ranks seventh in the nation with 13 home runs and leads Conference USA. She also leads the league with a 1.268 OPS, .808 slugging percentage and four sacrifice flies.
