Women’s Tennis Named ITA All-Academic Team for 17th Consecutive Year

DENTON, Texas (July 10, 2023) – For the 17th consecutive year, the UNT women's tennis program was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic team, the ITA announced Monday.
The Mean Green also had a pair of student-athletes, Olivia Malm and Olivia Halvorsen, be named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Both Malm and Halvorsen earned the award for the first time in their collegiate career.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, players must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
In 2023, 1,513 Division I Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 234 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
