DENTON - The UNT new-look men's golf team will play a 10-tournament schedule over the course of the 2023-24 season, including a nationally televised event along with a host event at Maridoe Golf Club leading into the program's first appearance at the American Athletic Conference Championship.
New head coach Luke Calcatera announced the slate that will begin with an early start to the season as the team heads to the Island Resort Intercollegiate in Harris, Michigan, on Sept. 3-4, before a quick turnaround to play in the Streamsong Intercollegiate in Lakeland, Florida, a week later. On Oct. 2-4, UNT will play in The Blessings Collegiate in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in a joint men's and women's event, which will also feature the Mean Green women's team and will be televised on the Golf Channel.
After a trip to the Carolina Cup in early October, the team will head to The Bahamas to close the fall portion of the schedule at the NCAA Bahamas Invitational Oct. 20-22.
UNT will have four spring events leading up to The American Championship in Bellaire, Florida, including its final tune up at the North Texas Intercollegiate April 15-16 at Maridoe Golf Club.
Along with their new head coach, the Mean Green will welcome six new faces to the program - four college transfers and two incoming freshmen. The team also features returning veterans such as Tucker Allen, Diego Prone and Cody Winkler, who just competed in the U.S. Amateur Championship.
