DENTON – Riding a four-game winning streak, the UNT men's basketball team is back in action Saturday afternoon at the Super Pit to host Temple for the first time in program history.
The Mean Green (9-5, 2-0) and Owls (8-8, 1-2) are scheduled to tip-off at 5 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield.
Saturday will be the first all-time meeting between North Texas and Temple.
UNT heads into the contest having won four in a row and undefeated in the American Athletic Conference. The Mean Green feature the league's No. 1 and the nation's No. 3 scoring defense as they are holding opponents to 58.9 points per game. In their last game, the Mean Green held Tulane, the league's No. 1 scoring offense, to a season low 56 points in a 14-point win.
The 56 points they held the Green Wave to was 33 points below their season scoring average and 10 points less than anyone else had held them to.
North Texas heads into Saturday's game riding a 15-game home winning streak. The program record for most consecutive home wins is 17, set between 2010 and 2011.
Following Saturday's game, UNT hits the road for a two-game road trip. The Mean Green face East Carolina in Greenville, North Carolina, on Wednesday and then at Charlotte on Saturday. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield.
