DENTON — The 16-time conference champion UNT soccer team and head coach John Hedlund announced the signing of midfielder Micah Beasley on Monday.
Beasley, a Baylor transfer, joins the Mean Green after playing in 22 matches for the Bears. The Spring, Texas, native helped lead Baylor to nine wins last season and a top six attack in the Big 12. Beasley net a goal last year on Sept. 10 versus Abilene Christian.
Beasley is a 2022 graduate from Connections Academy in Spring. She played her club soccer with Challenge Soccer Club under the coaching of Pat O'Toole in Tomball, Texas. She is from the same hometown and played for the same club team as Jacqueline Barnes who signed with the Mean Green in January and transferred from TCU.
In high school, Beasley was named Second-Team All-State and was her team's offensive MVP. She received Academic All-District honors and earned TopDrawerSoccer's Winter State Stars honors on two occasions.
Beasley will join UNT as a redshirt junior next season and will have two seasons of eligibility.
