
Mean Green Track & Field Head to Three Meets

DENTON, Texas – The UNT Track & Field team will be split up at three meets this weekend with individual athletes competing in Arkansas and Washington, while the majority of the team heads to the Jarvis Scott Open at Texas Tech.
After not competing last week, All-America thrower KeAyla Dove will return to competition at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Ranked No. 5 in the nation with a season-best mark of 17.85 meters at the Robert Platt Invitational, Dove has won all three shot put meets she has competed in this season. In Fayetteville, she will face her highest-level of competition yet in a field that includes a trio of Nebraska throwers ranked in the top-20 and Florida's eighth-ranked Alida Van Daalen.
Similar to Dove's situation, a trio of Mean Green distance runners who did not compete at the Washburn Open will head to the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington. Luke Canon will run in the 800 meters and the mile and will be joined by Sukeil Foucha in the 800 and Mason Garner in the mile. Both events are scheduled to take place Saturday morning at the Dempsey Indoor facility.
The rest of the Mean Green will head to Lubbock to for their final tune-up before the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. Their last time out, the Mean Green collected 19 top-five finishes and crowned three champions on the women's side at the Washburn Open. Jasmyn Reece had a stellar meet taking first place in the long jump, third in the 60 meters and sixth in the triple jump, while Nakiya Marshall won the 60-meter hurdles and Kendahl Tucker set a meet record en route to first place in the 400 meters.
The Jarvis Scott Open will be held at Texas Tech's Sports Performance Center with competition beginning at 3 p.m. CT Friday afternoon. Saturday's action will have a 10 a.m. start time with women's shot put, followed by the remainder of the running events at 11 a.m. The Jarvis Scott Open and Tyson Invitational will be streamed on ESPN+.
