Soccer Signs Jamaican Senior National Team Midfielder

DENTON — The 16-time conference champion UNT women's soccer team signed Jamaican Senior National Team midfielder Davia Richards on Monday.
The Hill College transfer was named NJCAA DI First Team All-American last season after she broke the program single season record for points (58) and goals (23) as she led her team to the national tournament. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
Following the 2023 season, the sophomore was called up to the Reggae women's senior national team. Richards scored a goal versus Guatemala in the CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifier in November. She was also named to the CONCACAF Gold Cup Team of the Month. Richards was then called back up to the national team in February for international friendlies in South America.
The 2023 NJCAA Region 5 Player of the Year will join the Mean Green with two years of eligibility remaining.
