
Softball Falls to USF

TAMPA, Fla. – UNT softball dropped its series opener 5-0 at South Florida on Thursday night at USF Softball Stadium.
The Mean Green (19-13, 8-2) suffered its first shutout since March 6 at Texas A&M in the loss. USF (24-13, 4-6) opened its fourth-consecutive conference series with a victory.
UNT collected a hit in three of the first four innings but stranded five runners early in the game.
The Bulls opened the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning, followed by a three-run fifth and pushed one run home in the sixth.
Mikayla Smith extended her season-long hitting streak to five games and is now one hit away for 100 for her career.
