DALLAS, Texas — UNT soccer veterans Summer Brown, Maddie Ogden and Rachel Roebuck were named to the 2024 American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Watch List on Tuesday as announced by the league.
This is the second year in a row that the senior Roebuck has earned the preseason recognition.
Brown, the youngest of the trio, is North Texas' top returning goal scorer. The junior from Arlington netted seven goals last season for the Mean Green. She is one of the most athletic forwards in the league and has found the back of the net in some of her team's biggest matches over her two seasons in Denton.
She ranked fifth in the league last year in goals per match and points per match.
Sixth-year senior Maddie Ogden is one of the conference's top returning goalkeepers. The New Jersey native is in her second year in the program after leading the Mean Green defense to seven total shutouts last season. Seven of UNT's eight wins last year were via the shutout. Ogden was the 2023 AAC Goalkeeper of the Week last year on Oct. 2 after she scored a goal at UTSA and posted a shutout.
The senior defender Roebuck is once again a captain of this Mean Green squad and leads a young defense. Roebuck hardly ever comes off the field for UNT and was a 2022 all-conference honoree. She had a career-high four assists last season.
The UNT women's soccer season starts on Aug. 15 when they host Oklahoma at 7 p.m. They host nationally ranked Alabama on Saturday at 7 p.m. CT. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
