Men's Golf Makes Big Move in Round 2

CHOUDRANT, La. - The UNT men's golf team moved up the leaderboard in Monday's second round of the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club thanks to a blistering 4-under 68 from senior James Tureskis.
The Mean Green moved up seven spots on the leaderboard into a tie for seventh at 7-over par, thanks to an even-par 288, which was the third-best team round of day. UNT is now one shot back of sixth-place Little Rock and three back of fifth-place Louisiana entering Tuesday's final round.Â
Tureskis moved up 45 spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 10th place, as he sits at 1-under par going to the final round. Freshman Blake Keen, who had a 3-under 69 on Sunday, was 3-over on Monday to enter Tuesday's final round at even-par in a tie for 12th place. Tureskis had a bogey-free second round with birdies on 1, 2, 9 and 13.
Dawson Meek also broke par on Monday with a 1-under 71 and moved up 24 spots to a tie for 31st.Â
For Tuesday's final round, the Mean Green will be paired with Louisiana Tech and UAB, beginning at 8 a.m.
