DENTON - Junior diver Kamryn Wong continued to etch her name in the program record books by earning her second American Athletic Conference Diving Athlete of the Week award this season.
Wong had a stellar weekend in the Rio Grande Valley when she notched two victories for the Mean Green over a two-day meet with UTRGV. Wong took the 1-meter springboard event with a score of 294.23 and also won the 3-meter springboard with a score of 339.83, which is the second-best score in program history. Wong also claimed third place in the platform diving event with a score of 200.93.
When Wong won the same award back in the fall, it marked the first time a UNT swimmer or diver had won the weekly award since joining the AAC prior to the 2022-23 season.
"Kam has been consistent and steady all year for our team," said associate head coach/diving coach Stephanie O'Callaghan. "This is a very well deserved award. Not only is she a strong competitor but she's been a great teammate too - always helping those around her."
Wong and her teammates will return to action on Feb. 8, when the Mean Green host Little Rock and celebrate Senior Day.Â
